Tell us a bit about your background prior to Davidson McDonnell?

I trained in the Banking department of a commercial firm in Belfast.  A year post qualification, I moved to a leading Irish law firm working as an Associate in their Finance department for almost six years.

What do you enjoy most about working within finance law?

The variety – no two transactions are the same, as each client has different commercial objectives. I really enjoy helping clients to obtain financing to further their business and achieve their goals.

How did you first hear about Davidson McDonnell?

Having worked with both Ross and David at my previous firm, I was aware of Davidson McDonnell from it’s inception and had followed the growth of the firm with interest.

What drew you to Davidson McDonnell?

From working with Ross and David, I know that their style of working is extremely client-focused. They, and the whole team at Davidson McDonnell, have a great reputation within the market and it is an exciting time to join such an up and coming firm.

The opportunity to help with building their finance practice was an exciting challenge I could not look past and I look forward to expanding the services already available to our clients.

How would you describe Davidson McDonnell?

Dynamic, Commercially focused, Specialist, A Cohesive Team

What do you enjoy most about working at Davidson McDonnell?

On joining Davidson McDonnell, it is extremely noticeable how everyone pulls together and works as a team. There is a real atmosphere of unity and, not only is this an enjoyable way in which to work, it is to the benefit of clients. The various departments and specialisms within the firm easily work together and are all striving to achieve the clients’ desired result.

In addition, the firm has clients who are active and completing numerous deals within the market, so the calibre of transactions and level of work is really exciting.

I am also currently completing a part-time secondment in Ulster Bank Group Legal.  This has afforded me the opportunity to see matters from a client perspective which has been extremely beneficial.
